Fill rhythms
Some drummers use the same fill each and every time she or he plays a song. Others improvise fills. Regardless of your specific preference, these excercises will help you come up with nice fills.
- You get a good tool for writing tailor made fills
- You get at method for inventing spontaneous fills in the spur of the moment
Play the rhythms on snare drum first - then orchestrate on the kit (don't forget to involve the bass drum).
Remember - Always play cycles in 4, 8, 12 or 16 measures!
