Off beat crashes

Every once in a while, you will have to play syncopated crashes - that's crashes played off the beat.
 

An eight note before the beat

Play a crash one 8:th note before the "1":

Leave the hihat note on "1" out to make space for the crash to ring!

 

Add a simple fill - just two snare drum notes before the crash.

Swap the 8:th notes for four 16:th notes.

Try this fill. Play open hihat on beat 3, and let it ring until the "1 and" of the next measure:

Play along excercise

A quite tricky excercise including all three crash variations.
Play through the excercise without crashing at first, just to navigate. Then add crashes and finally - add some fills.
